The Front Page of a Website

The front page of a newspaper usually features the biggest news stories of the day. It will also tease other stories that will be featured inside the edition. The layout of the front page can also give us clues about the editorial philosophy of a paper; for example, a tabloid will place more emphasis on celebrity gossip and a more serious newspaper will focus more on national and international politics. A website can also have a front page which acts as a welcome mat for visitors to the site.

In 2014, three Jane Does who were sex trafficked as minors sued Backpage in federal court claiming that their traffickers used the site to post ads selling them for sex. They alleged that Backpage substantially changed the content of these ads and thus lost its protection under CDA Section 230.

Microsoft FrontPage was a WYSIWYG Web editor and site creation tool that was included with the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems from 1997 to 2006. It was replaced by two other products, Microsoft Expression Web and SharePoint Designer.
