A daily update is a report or summary of events, progress, or changes that happen on a regular basis. Teams typically provide daily updates during morning meetings. Daily updates help teams manage projects more efficiently by eliminating redundant status reports and focusing on managing the flow of work.
To enable daily updates for your Action, configure one of your Action’s intents as the triggering intent for this feature. When users invoke this intent, your Action should automatically open a conversation and ask for the day’s update. To personalize this conversation, you can add custom parameters that users can submit when registering their daily updates. You can also choose to send this conversation as a push notification or display it as a suggestion chip.
Encourage team members to share challenges in their private daily updates. This will help them collect group knowledge and learn from each other’s experiences, as well as identify areas for improvement.
Prompt the user to register for daily updates mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip when they exit your Action successfully. Ideally, you should show the user how they’ll benefit from subscribing to daily updates right after they’ve demonstrated how they would use your Action—otherwise, the prompt will likely fade from memory over time. Then, remind the user to check their Assistant notifications at their scheduled daily update time. This ensures that your Action will deliver value to them every day. This is a key requirement for successful adoption of any new technology.
