In response to the fact that not all high impact research results become available by the general abstract submission deadline, SIOP offers a special late-breaking opportunity. Late breaking abstracts are reserved for highly relevant, impactful research that became available in the last three months. The research can be from large clinical studies or exceptionally compelling single center investigations. The data presented should have significant impact on the field.
If your research meets the criteria for a late-breaking abstract, you can submit it during the late-breaking abstract submission period, which is open from July 16–September 15 at 5 p.m. PT. Please note that the late-breaking abstract submission does not extend the general abstract submission deadline and your study must be complete by the general abstract submission deadline to be considered for a regular research abstract.
Top-scoring late-breaking scientific abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentations at Congress and will be included in the online Congress Scientific Programme. If accepted for poster presentation, the presenting author must register and attend the meeting to present their work. A presenting author may only be listed on one late-breaking abstract, and the author of an accepted late-breaking abstract must complete the financial disclosure form by Tuesday, June 17. The costs for poster printing, travel/hotel accommodations and registration fees are the responsibility of the presenting authors.
Accepted late-breaking abstracts will be published in the AJG 2025 Supplement issue and may also appear in other scientific or medical journals. However, for paper presentation at the conference and inclusion in the Congress Proceedings in print (and digital) format, the presenting author must be registered by May 1, 2025.
