Master’s Degree in Global Affairs

As our world becomes more interdependent, it takes people with global perspectives to make informed decisions that promote peace and well-being. As a graduate student in our master’s degree program, you will develop the critical thinking skills and understanding of different cultures and societies to address the complex issues that face humanity today.

Your studies will explore the political, economic and cultural forces that shape our global community. You’ll examine topics such as international relations, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, global development and human rights. You’ll also gain an in-depth understanding of the impact of technology and communications on international affairs.

You’ll build a foundation of knowledge through courses that are taught by faculty members who have expertise in their fields. Then you’ll focus your studies through a thematic and geographic concentration to customize your degree. You’ll also choose a language requirement — up to two courses that carry the L4 attribute — and take a number of electives in your field of study.

You’ll build a broad range of skills that employers in every industry seek, from analyzing data to working with diverse groups to communicating ideas clearly and confidently. You’ll be ready to make a difference in the world through work at governments and nonprofit organizations, in multinational companies and in a variety of other sectors.
