Global climate change has become one of the most pressing issues of the 21st century. Recent trends in climate change show significant impacts on the environment, health and economy. Data analysts show that global temperatures continue to rise, resulting in more frequent extreme weather phenomena such as storms, floods and droughts. Global average temperature rise has reached nearly 1.2 degrees Celsius since the pre-industrial era. Data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) shows that greenhouse gas emissions are the main cause of this trend. Increases in carbon dioxide (CO2) due to human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation, contribute extensively to climate change. One of the most striking impacts of climate change is the melting of ice in the Arctic and Antarctic. This not only increases sea level but also changes the marine ecosystem. Species such as polar bears and penguins face an increasing risk of extinction due to habitat loss. This impact also spreads to coastal communities who depend on this ecosystem for their livelihoods. Changes in weather patterns have also triggered a global food crisis. Agriculture is threatened by unpredictable temperatures and unstable rainfall. Crops such as wheat and corn have seen yields decline, leading to sharp criticism of global agricultural policies. In fact, sustainable agricultural technology is starting to be introduced to overcome this problem. From a health perspective, the impact of climate change has caused an increase in cases of infectious diseases and respiratory diseases. Air pollution resulting from global warming contributes to health problems with increasing incidents of asthma and other lung disorders. The World Health Organization (WHO) notes that around 250,000 additional deaths per year are expected to be related to climate change between 2030-2050. The shift from conventional energy to renewable energy is an important trend in climate change mitigation efforts. Investments in solar, wind and biomass power are increasing rapidly. Analysis of the energy sector shows that this transition is not only sustainable, but can also create new jobs and improve overall energy security. Apart from individual actions, the role of government is very important in dealing with climate change. The 2015 Paris Agreement emphasized the need to limit global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius. Countries around the world have started designing strategies to reduce emissions by implementing policies based on carbon pricing and incentives for environmentally friendly technologies. Innovative technologies, such as carbon capture and storage (CCS), are also part of the solution to tackling emissions. Research continues to be conducted to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of this technology. In addition, the use of electric-based transportation is increasing, which adds hope for reducing the global carbon footprint. Public awareness about climate change is also increasing, with a global movement carried out by millions of activists and organizations. People are encouraged to reduce their carbon footprint through saving energy, using public transportation, and switching to more environmentally friendly products. Education about climate change is becoming increasingly important in schools and universities to create a more environmentally conscious generation. In the face of the latest trends in global climate change, international collaboration is more important than ever. The best solutions are not only local but must also be seen from a global perspective. Only with synergistic action from around the world can we hope to reverse or at least slow down the negative impacts caused by climate change.
